What is your favourite enzyme, and why?

Aminotransferase- it’s interesting that it requires no energy input.

 

What is your favourite book?

Salem’s Lot by Stephen King.

 

What is the most recent book you’ve read?

Dance with Dragons, the last Game of Thrones book.

 

What is your favourite amino acid, and why?

Serine- it makes me feel serene.

 

What are some of your hobbies?

Home repair and renovations.

 

What is your dream vacation?

Portugal and the south of Portugal- I’ve gone, but I’d go back again.

 

What is your favourite BIOC lab experiment?

The lab in BIOC2610 where lactate dehydrogenase shows reversibility.

 

What’s the biggest mistake you’ve made in lab?

The funnest one was probably when I added too much NaHCO3- probably ten times the amount- and it foamed up like a volcano and burst to the ceiling- you can probably still see it!

 

Do you have any advice or anything else you want to say?

I really enjoy seeing people moving on in their career.
